Made from stone coal, our 0.42 – 1.7mm Activated Carbon is a premium-grade carbon with higher cleaning surface. Activated carbon filtration is suggested when trying to achieve a pure, neutral spirit and is not intended for filtering product where residual character, aroma, and color are necessary, such as whisky, rum, or schnapps.

Stone Carbon 0.42 – 1.7mm -1.7L
The difference between our 0.4 – 0.85mm premium carbon and this 0.42 – 1.7mm premium carbon is that the granules in this carbon are slightly larger, which allows it to be reused many more times than the smaller, 0.4 – 0.85mm size carbon because the granules gradually become smaller with each use. However, if you do reuse your activated carbon, there is a specific process that you must follow to rinse and dry the carbon in between each use, which can prolong the life of your carbon.
