Likor Shak’s wide variety of crystal and caramel malts are perfect for adding rich flavour and colour to your brews. They don’t contribute enzymes to the mash, making them ideal for enhancing the sweetness of your beer. The maltster can control the level of caramelization and color of caramel/crystal malt by varying the time and temperature of heating of the sugar-containing grain with colors ranging from light sweet caramel to dark roasted toffee. Malts are available by tenth of a pound and for those seeking bulk options we offer 50-55 lb sacks (sack size depends on the manufacturer). To order by tenth of a pound, please convert ounce or gram measures in your grain bill to decimal pound, for example the smallest increment available online is: 0.1 lb = 1.6 oz = 45 g.
